How the ranking works

Each of the 195 countries has an editorial estimate on a seven-step scale for all twelve axes. Your settings are compared with each profile by the same distance the 12 axes test uses, and the ten nearest are listed.

The estimates show broad similarities, so a difference of a few points between two countries does not mean much. A close country is neither a recommendation nor a verdict on it. The method is on about this 12 axes test.
